Join the Silver Coaches project!

AFTERMATCH takes focus on developing the skills of athletes and coaches to prepare them for professional life after their sporting careers. Now it’s time to put it on the next phase with the project called Silver Coaches.

This two simple words mean that we are taking our idea one step further. The project focuses on the knowledge, experience and potential of people aged 60+ in sport. We want to create new opportunities for them – to remain active in sport clubs and organisations.

One of our key goals is to prepare experienced educators and coaches to support young athletes in managing their dual careers. Their knowledge and experience can help them combine sporting development with education and prepare for life beyond sport.

The next events of the project are:

  • International training in Helsinki

In September, selected participants of the project will take part in an international training programme in Helsinki (Finland). The practice should prepare them to become dual-career coaches in Poland.

  • Meeting and training in Poland

The next step will be a dedicated training programme for future dual-career coaches who will support young people in their local communities. In the end, participants will put their knowledge into practice through daily work in sports clubs and organisations.

Are you 60+ with a will to share experience in sport and education? Or perhaps you know someone who could become a great “Silver Coach”? Get in touch with us via info@aftermatch.eu address.

Tell us about your experience, and we will contact you with more information about the project. Your experience can help shape the future of the next generation of athletes.

The Silver Coaches project is co-funded by the European Union.
