We’ve just returned from the twelfth edition of annual “Młodzi o Sporcie” (“Young People in Sport”) conference, organised – as usual – by the Sport Management Students’ Association at Jagiellonian University in Kraków. This year, the AFTERMATCH project was not a participant but also – a speaker.
During the conference, we had the opportunity to introduce students to the Erasmus+ Sport programme. We’ve discussed the benefits of a dual career and shared our plans for the future of the project.
This year’s event focused on human capital development in sport: a topic closely connected with our idea of a dual career. It was also a great occasion to talk about the opportunities, created for athletes.
We strongly believe that young people will play a key role in the future of sport. Supporting athletes both on and off the field is an essential part of it.
The conference was also attended by:
- Edyta Ropek – one of the most outstanding speed sport climbers in the history of Polish sport, a multiple World and European champion;
- Dr. Łukasz Strzelecki – Board Member, Sport Biznes Polska Association;
- Rafał Kaszubski – Youth for Sport and Society Leadership Programme;
- Sławomir Peszko – Vice President for Sports, KS Wieczysta Kraków; former Polish national football team player;
- Filip Trubalski – General Director of the Sports Division, KS Cracovia SA;
- Florentyna Kulig – Managing Director, Wisła Kraków;
- Mariusz Krupa – Vice President, Lesser Poland Football Association
Once again we’d like to thank the Sport Management Students’ Association at Jagiellonian University for inviting us and for creating a space for discussion! You can also find the photo gallery in a separate news item.
