Cracovia launches “Pasiaste Horyzonty” scholarship programme

Cracovia takes another step towards supporting dual career of young footballers. Their Youth Foundation has launched the first edition of a scholarship programme, aimed at players from the club’s academy aged from 14 to 19.

The programme called “Pasiaste Horyzonty” is designed to support young athletes not only in sporting development, but also in their education and preparation for life after football career. As a part of the initiative, players can receive financial support for activities like language courses, training programmes and educational classes.

The initiative reflects the importance of dual career in youth football. Academies all across the world can help young players to build a fundament for the future – regardless of how their sporting journey develops.

“The programme is a natural continuation of the club’s efforts to support dual career. The goal is not only to develop talented footballers, but also to help young people become better prepared for life outside the pitch.” – explains Filip Trubalski, General Director of Cracovia’s Sports Division and the project’s initiator.

For AFTERMATCH, such initiatives are an encouraging example of how football academies can put the values of dual career into practice. Supporting education, personal development and professional competences alongside sports can play an important role in creating more sustainable ways for young athletes.

We will follow the programme with interest and look forward to see its impact on the development of young Cracovia players.
